How to Play 99°

Goal

Keep the temperature at or below 99°. If you can't play without exceeding 99°, you lose the hand.

On Your Turn

Play one card from your hand, adding its value to the temperature. Draw a replacement.
If no card you hold can be played without exceeding 99°, you lose the hand.

Special Cards

4 — Wind: Reverses direction. Adds 0°.
9 — Hold: Temperature stays the same.
10 — Ice: Temperature drops 10° (min 0°).
King — Flashpoint: Temperature jumps to exactly 99°.
Ace — Ember: Adds only 1°.
J, Q: +10°. 2–8 (not 4): face value.

Tokens & Lives

Everyone starts with 3 tokens.
Lose a hand → forfeit one token.
Lose all tokens → play On Your Honor (one final life).
Lose while On Your Honor → eliminated.
